Bosch announced the launch of a new horizontal flow wrapper, for airtight sealed packagings. The unit features a revolving long dwell sealing system for gas-tight seams that Bosch claims to be suited for fresh, perishable goods with Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP). Also medical goods wrapped in thicker foils can be processed with the device. A simplified cleaning and maintenance leads to lower total costs of ownership, Bosch says.

“As consumer focus on product safety intensifies, technologies like the Pack 301 LD for hermetically sealed seams are in demand,” said Daniela Thiele, Director Product Management and Marketing, Bosch Packaging Technology. “The machine’s longer sealing time and high productivity coupled with several TCO-enhancing (Total Cost of Ownership) benefits meets manufacturer needs for efficiency and quality.”

The new sealing machine also detects if product gets caught between sealing jaws, immediately rejecting such packages. This not only leads to a better and more uniform product quality, but reduces the amount of work necessary to clean the system significantly.
