Contract with Pemex Foster Wheeler Joins Mexican Coker Project
Engineering behemoth Foster Wheeler is in for another plant engineering project in Latin America: The Swiss based company teams up with Altair Strickland to provide engineering, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up for delayed coker units at two Mexican refineries for Pemex.
Mexico DF/Mexico – Together, both companies will provide slide valve systems for the Hector R. Lara Sosa Refinery located in Cadereyta, Nueva Leon, and the Francisco I. Madero refinery in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas. Both projects are scheduled to be completed during refinery turnarounds in 2015.
“These wins reflect our strong relationship with Pemex and our growing capabilities and presence in Mexico,” said Roberto Penno, Chief Executive Officer, Foster Wheeler Global Engineering and Construction Group. “Foster Wheeler brings to these projects extensive experience in the design and delivery of retrofits to delayed cokers, a robust track record in executing projects in Mexico, and impressive technical expertise in heavy crude processing.”
