Pumps Flowserve Opens Pump Manufacturing in Brazil

Flowserve strengthens its presence on the Latin American markets with a new state-of-the-art pump manufacturing plant in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Apart from manufacturing a wide range of Flowserve pumps, the faciliyt also includes a 6-megawatt test stand and full parts, service and training capabilities, company speakers explained.

Rio de Janeiro/Brazil – "Localization of our products and services is a key component of our Flowserve strategy," said Tom Pajonas, chief operating officer. "This plant demonstrates our continuing drive to serve our customers in the best way possible."

Located in the Campo de Grande Industrial Area, the new 15,000 square meter facility sits on more than 44,000 square meters of total land, allowing for easy expansion to meet future needs. More than 350 employees are planned to occupy the facility when the transition from the existing Rio de Janeiro facility is complete later this year. The existing plant was opened in 1941.
