Ultrafilters Filters are Non-Fouling and Re-Usable

Sartorius Stedim Biotech has developed Sartocon ECO ultrafilters for purifying vaccines and monoclonal antibodies.

They use Hydrosart stabilized polymer membranes based on hydrophilic regenerated cellulose. Minimal protein binding makes the membranes virtually non-fouling and so enables high yields. Sartocon ECO ultrafilters are also stable at high pH and over a wide temperature range, so they are not only easy to clean but can be re-used after several cleaning cycles, considerably reducing operating costs. Sartocon ECO ultrafilters will be available in Slice, Sartocon and Sartocube formats for preferred nominal molecular weight cutoffs of 10kD, 30kD and 100kD.
