Sensitizing the Asian market in safety matters — Better safe than sorry: Asia is the undisputed powerhouse of the global process industries. Its products and newly constructed world-scale chemical parks are more than a match for the international competition. But what about the safety issues? In fact, most companies’ need for services and maintenance works are growing at a stretch and are thus in need of a little help — and encouragement — in that very field, as experts say...
Regular checks are imperative in order to ensure that explosion protection products function smoothly and without interruptions. There is no doubt that the maintenance of safety-relevant components in plants is highly important for the protection of employees and products. Errors due to insufficient maintenance work can, in case of emergency, cause huge economic damages and endanger the integrity of staff and equipment. The manufacturers and distributors of explosion protection products are aware of this responsibility — in domestic markets as well as abroad.
“It is generally important that the valves are maintained regularly — whether it's in Asia or any other part of the world”, explains Aleksandar Agatonovic deputy CEO of Rico, addressing the situation that the Swiss explosion protection specialists face concerning their product range of safety valves. “The need for services and maintenance works has grown correspondently.
Having a partner on-site is also an advantage — not least because of financial economic reasons.” A task, which is often not easy — but nonetheless important, as the Far East is home to many companies that work in the powder-processing industry. The Asian market recorded a double-digit growth and became more and more interesting in the past for explosion protection component suppliers, Agatonovic emphasizes.
Cooperation for Explosion Protection on the Asian Market
Therefore, Rico cooperates with industrial solutions suppliers Rieckermann in the provision of maintenance services for the company’s Ventex valves in the region. Rieckermann’s Head of Technical Services, Sebastian Daldrup, explains: “We provide an all-around carefree package: A customer needs for instance a product line, we provide the complete execution of the project — starting with the engineering and the component acquisition, the development, the commissioning, to the maintenance.”
Of course, the technical safety components that are implemented, are a part of that: “Explosion isolation solutions are correspondently a part of the package, since our customer base is set, among others, in the powder-processing industry.” And this is, where Rico’s Ventex explosion isolation valves come into play.
But there was another advantage to this cooperation: Rieckermann already had experiences with safety products in the field of dust explosion protection before — this knowledge was intensified with the specialization in all Ventex valve types.
