About the Award for „Germany’s most innovative medium-sized enterprises“

Since 2014, WirtschaftsWoche has honored the Top 50 most innovative German medium-sized companies. Every year, the Munich Strategy Group (MSG) evaluates multiple industries for the most innovative businesses in Germany. This year, MSG analyzed the income statements and presentations of 3,500 medium sizes enterprises, along with the opinions of managing directors, customers and competitors. In addition, renewal power of the companies as well as sales and profit development were taken into account. One of the decisive factors was, how the company defines new trends within the industry and the perception of competitors and media in this regard. Based on these data sources and in the opinion of the analysts. Two thirds of the criteria for the innovation score were based on innovation dynamism (the company distinguishes itself through continuous innovations), innovative reputation (the company is deemed as innovative by the market and competitors) and innovation leadership (the company leads the pack when it comes to innovation). One third of the assessment criteria looks at economic indicators like turnover and profit growth.
