EPC Group has been awarded a contract by Zhejiang Petroleum and Chemical Co., Ltd. (ZPC) for the provision of technology license, engineering design and proprietary equipment supply for a 260 kta polycarbonate (PC) production plant. The plant will be located on Dayushan Island in China. The project is already underway and progressing smoothly.

The feedstock for the PC plant will be provided by upstream ‘bisphenol A’ (BPA) and ‘diphenyl carbonate’ (DPC) units. The PC production plant on Dayushan Island will be the first in the world to incorporate three trains and will be the largest single application of EPC Group’s variPLANT® technology. This unique design will provide ZPC with the flexibility to concurrently produce multiple grades of PC.
