Graz/Austria – Andritz Separation will supply a paddle dryer for biosolids recovery plant to Kore Infrastructure. The plant is currently under construction in Rialto, California/USA. In the plant, biosolids from wastewater facilities in Los Angeles and which have normally gone to landfill will be converted into biodiesel and biochar. Start-up is scheduled for the second quarter of 2016.
The paddle dryer will reduce the biosolids volume by up to 80 percent, while preserving its energy content for further recovery. According to the company the track-record of this paddle drying technology was decisive in award of this order. The company states more than 200 paddle dryer installations worldwide.
