Dos Santos International (DSI) announced the order of two DSI Snake sandwich high angle conveyors for facilities of Spanish refinery operator Repsol. DSI had already implemented a Snake at the Aceralia Steel Mill in Gijon, Spain, in 2003, replacing an older and problematic vertical pocket belt system. The Gijon Snake has been elevating raw coal at a 75 degree angle successfully for the last seven years and counting.

One of the new conveyors is being built at the Muskiz Refinery in North-Eastern Spain, where it will elevate coke and deliver the hot product to an intermediate storage. Specially designed for operations in a potentially explosive environment this conveyor system complies with the latest Atex standards.

A second DSI Snake was ordered with a special C-shaped profile for a refinery in Cartagena. The Cartagena Snake will be part of the facility's sulfur storages, transporting solid particles from the solidification process.
