Table Shaker Developed for Carbon Dioxide Incubators

Infors new table shaker Celltron allows for a simple application of shaken cell cultures. Since cultivations in shaken vessels develop significantly better than in static ones, the Swiss company developed its new table shaker especially for CO2-incubators.

The systems use a modern version of Infor's HT magnetic drive that does not need a belt drive and is watertight enclosed. Since the system was especially developed for cell cultures, the drive works gentle and with mild start up and brake behaviour.

By using material like ABS plastics or stainless steel, the device is well suited for use in corrosive CO2 atmospheres. With a special coating additive of pure metallic silver, microorgansims can not grow on the units surface.

The company states that this certified anti–microbial surface helps to reduce the number or spores of bacillus or funghi by a factor of 105 at least. The motor only needs 4W of energy and produces virtually no exhaust heat to ensure constant incubator temperature. The control unit can be mounted outside of the incubator to access the unit control easily.

The shaker allows for a cultivation of cell cultures in a drive range of 20 to 200 rpm with a precision of one percent of the maximum speed. It can be loaded up to 3.5 kg and used from 4°C to 60° C (Touch-Controller up to 45 °C) as well as in humidities up to 98% (without condensation, Touch Controller up to 60% rH).
