US Chemicals Production Despite Boom: Resins Production in US Remains Static

The boom of US manufacturing has not pushed resins production in the US, the American Chemistry Council (ACC) said: Production of major plastic resins totaled 6.7 billion pounds during August 2015, a decrease of 0.2 percent compared to the same month in 2014.

Washington/USA – Year-to-date production was 52.3 billion pounds, a 3.3 percent increase as compared to the same period in 2014.

Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins totaled 6.6 billion pounds during August 2015, an increase of 0.7 percent from the same month one year earlier. Year-to-date sales and captive use was 52.3 billion pounds, a 3.2 percent increase as compared to the same period in 2014.
