Chandra Asri Expands Butadiene Plant

Chandra Asri Petrochemical has awarded an EPC services contract to Toyo-Korea and Inti Karya Persada Tehnik (IKPT) for a Butadiene expansion project.
Jakarta/Indonesia — The expansion will increase the company's Butadiene production capacity up to 37 %. Previously, Chandra Asri's subsidiary Petrokimia Butadiene Indonesiahas also signed an agreement with Lummus Technology for the license and engineering design of BASF/Butadiene Extraction technology for the expansion of their Butadiene production site at its integrated Naphtha Cracker complex in Cilegon, Banten. Project completion and plant start-up is expected to do in the third quarter of 2018, the petrochemicals producer announced.
