China: License and Engineering CB&I Wins Dual Technology Contracts

Texas/USA – CB&I has recently announced that it has been awarded with two contracts. The maiden contract is with Hainan Huasheng New Material Technology Co. for the license and engineering design of a diphenyl carbonate (DPC) petrochemical unit in Hainan Province, China. The unit will use Versalis’ DPC technology licensed by CB&I to produce diphenyl carbonate intermediate, which is used for the production of polycarbonate.

The second project is with Cnooc Ningbo Daxie Petrochemical Co. for the license and process design engineering of a 300 kta polypropylene plant in Ningbo, China. The plant will use CB&I’s Novolen technology and proprietary Novolen High Performance catalyst to produce a full range of polypropylene products, with a focus on high-end copolymers.
