China: Propane Dehydrogenation CB&I Bags License and Engineering Contract from Jinneng Science & Technology

Texas/USA – CB&I has announced that it has been awarded a contract by Jinneng Science & Technology Co. for the license and engineering design of a propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China.

The unit will use CB&I’s Catofin technology to produce 900,000 metric tonnes of propylene per year. It will also utilize Catofin catalyst and heat generating material from the company’s catalyst partner, Clariant. Once the unit is complete, it is claimed that it will be the world’s largest single-train PDH unit.

Recently, the firm also bagged two other license and engineering design contracts in China from Hainan Huasheng New Material Technology Co. for its diphenyl carbonate (DPC) petrochemical unit in the Hainan Province and the other one from Cnooc Ningbo Daxie Petrochemical Co. for its 300 kta polypropylene plant in Ningbo.
