Engineering, Procurement and Fabrication CB&I Announces Hydrogen Plant Award in Kansas

CB&I announced it has been awarded a contract valued in excess of US $ 40 million by Coffeyville Resources Refining & Marketing LLC. The project scope includes the engineering, procurement, fabrication and field construction of a 22 million standard cubic feet per day hydrogen plant at its refinery in Coffeyville, Kansas.

The Woodlands, Texas/USA – „This plant will supply high-purity hydrogen for the refinery's hydroprocessing needs“, said Daniel McCarthy, President of CB&I's Technology operating group. „The plant will utilize our proprietary Hyforming box furnace technology for steam methane reforming, which provides superior process performance and reliable operation. CB&I's expertise in modular fabrication and supply will help us meet the deadline for this project.“

Coffeyville Resources Refining & Marketing LLC operates a complex full coking medium-sour crude oil refinery with a rated capacity of 115,000 barrels per calendar day in Coffeyville, Kansas, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of CVR Refining, LP.
