Ahmedabad/India – “I am delighted at how positively the alliance has developed in recent years,” commented Dr Martin Wienkenhoever, CEO of CABB. “CABB Karnavati is a vital cornerstone of our ambitious growth plans in Asia.” CABB recently announced that a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed concerning a joint venture with Jinwei Specialty Chemicals in China.

MCA is widely used in the personal care, food, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and plastics industries, markets that are seeing consistent growth especially in Asia. In a move to increase productivity, CABB is planning to introduce state-of-the-art advanced technology for manufacturing high-quality MCA in India.

Expansion Plans for India

“Having decided to expand capacity and produce high-quality MCA for the emerging Indian market, as a leading multinational company operating in Asia we are delighted to engage in developing the Indian market for high-end applications. We recently launched KARNA, a multi-million dollar investment project run by a team of experts from Germany and India. The resulting new technology will enable us to produce consistently high-quality MCA and SMCA. KARNA will be completed by the end of 2013,” said Dr Uwe Brunk, General Manager of the CABB Group’s Acetyls Business Unit.
