China on a shopping spree: The country is busy buying industrial manufacturers overseas. In 2013, Chinese buyers acquired 30 target companies, backed up by governmental programmes to boost the nations competitiveness. These figures nearly doubled compared to 2012.

Especially electronics and electrical equipment but also industrial machinery were highly sought after by international bidders, recent PWC figures indicate: 41 % of global deals in manufacturing were attributed to this sector.
