BRCS, an alliance of chemical materials providers Barentz and Ravago today announced the acquisition of Austrian Chemres, a distributor of chemicals in Austria.

Vienna/Austria – ”The acquisition of Chemres is of strategic importance to BRCS, because it gives us direct access to customers in Austria. We were looking for a business partner with excellent knowledge of the Austrian market, who could help us and our principals grow in Austria and have found this partner in Chemres and its CEO Robert Ornik. With his 25 years of experience, Robert Ornik has built Chemres into a solid business. Based in Werndorf, Chemres is strategically located on the border of Austria and Slovenia, making it an ideal hub into also the former Yugoslavian countries,” states Hidde van der Wal, CEO of the BRCS Group.

Now the company plans to expand its new position in Austria by expanding on the industrial chemicals market. Especially coatings and inks, but also construction chemicals or detergents and cleaners are regarded as promising growth markets.
