China: Adhesives & Sealants Bodo Möller Chemie Acquires Distribution for Dow Automotive Products in China

Bodo Möller Chemie Group with its China-based subsidiary signed an agreement with Shanghai Caraba Industrial & Trading Development, to purchase assets including the distribution for the Dow Automotive products Thixon and Megum.

ShanghaiChina — The agreement includes business information, business record, and inventory of Caraba. As part of the agreement, Caraba provides the company guidance and assistance in maintaining customer fidelity and relationships in relation with the acquisition of the relevant assets.

“The automotive industry in China is the largest in the world measured by automobile unit production per year. And the growth goes on: Recently, as published in the Automotive News China, Dongfeng Motor Corp. in joint venture with Honda Motor announced the employment of 2,200 more people to boost the vehicle output”, says Bodo Möller Chemie CEO Frank Haug.

As global partner of Dow Automotive Systems, China is a priority market for Bodo Möller Chemie. With this acquisition, the subsidiary in Shanghai serves the Chinese market with adhesives and sealants from Dow Automotive Systems for applications in the transportation manufacturing industry.

Additionally, the portfolio of Huntsman Advanced Materials complements the selection of adhesives and solutions for the composite and electronic segments. The company has professional sales and customer service and a local warehouse in Shanghai to supply solutions for rubber to metal bonding and structural bonding.
