Fertilizer Billion Dollar Fertilizer Project Underway in Egypt

Abu Qir Fertilizers plans a new billion fertilizer complex in Abu Tartor, Egypt. The company has therefor signed MoUs with both Misr Phosphate, a phosphate mining company in Egypt, and Egypt Kuwait Holding.

Alexandrai/Egypt –In total, Abu Qir plans to invest US $ 1.2 billion in its new 500,000 tons/year phosphate fertilizer plant in Abu Tatur. This project is only the latest in series of investment decisions in Egypt and beyond - only recently, the administrations of Egypt and Kuwait agreed on a number of projects,m including a US $ 2.5 billion propylene facility in Alexandria and a US $ 3 billion refinery in Suez.
