Renewable energy for India's booming economy: BHEL commissions a new 5-MW photovoltaic power plant for Karnataka Power Corporation (KPCL), at a cost of 620 million Rupees (around 11.1 million US Dollar).

Karnataka/India – Shivasamudram: Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has commissioned a single largest solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in at Shivasamudram near Mandya/India. For the Shivasamudram project, BHEL’s scope of work included design, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of the solar power plant. In addition, BHEL will also operate and maintain the solar power plant for a period of three years.
