USA: Expansion of Ultra-Low Sulfur Product Slate Bechtel to Upgrade Beaumont Refinery

Bechtel has been awarded a contract to upgrade the Exxon Mobil refinery in Beaumont, Texas.

Beaumont/USA – For the project, the company will apply Exxon Mobil's proprietary Scanfining technology to increase the production of motor fuels. Bechtel has already begun design work on the Beaumont refinery upgrades. Construction is planned to start in mid-2016 with targeted start-up in 2018.

"The Bechtel team will apply extensive technical knowledge and global experience to efficiently and safely deliver an enhanced refining facility at Beaumont," said Jack Futcher, president of Bechtel's Oil, Gas and Chemicals business unit. "We look forward to continued collaboration with Exxon Mobil as they work to expand production of ultra-low sulfur fuels at their facility."
