Irving, Texas/USA – BASF has awarded Texan Fluor with an umbrella services agreement for two regions of major importance for the German chemicals giant: Europe and Asia. The exact contract value remained undisclosed. Fluor officials stated that the agreements cover capital investment projects with separate service orders in the chemicals and petrochemicals business. Fluor will provide front-end engineering and design (FEED), project management services and/or detailed engineering, procurement and construction management services for these projects.

"BASF is a long-standing client of Fluor for which we have performed projects across the globe for decades, most notably and most recently with three large-scale projects in China," said Peter Oosterveer, president for Fluor's Energy & Chemicals Group. "These new partnering arrangements will allow us to provide our global resource talent pool and value-added solutions for BASF's growing capital investment needs." Fluor's Dutch office in Haarlem/The Netherlands will coordinate European partnerships and coordinate the work of other involved Fluor operation centers around the globe, the company says.
