Nylon Intermediates Advanced Nylon Intermediates Project Underway in China
Invista works on a Chinese Nylon intermediates project in Shanghai, the company says. According to officials, the new plant in Shanghai will become the most technologically advanced of its kind.
Shanghai/PR China – Polymer and fibers specialists Invista enters a joint project fro nylon intermediates in China. The signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Administration Commission (Scipac) covers the first phase of the company’s nylon 6,6 intermediates and polymer project at the chemical park.
“We are excited to see this project reach another milestone, and are grateful for the support provided by SCIPAC and related government authorities in Shanghai,” said Steve Kromer, Invista’s senior vice president and project leader for this major investment.
Permitting and engineering works are already underway, Invista states. Groundbreaking for the plant, subject to obtaining all approvals required by the laws of the PRC, is expected in early 2013. Invista expects the facility to become the most energy efficient and technologically advanced nylon intermediates plant in the world, company officials say.
“The plant will also expand our global production capability, further strengthening our global leadership position in nylon intermediates and fibers and demonstrating our commitment to meeting the increasing demand for these products in China and the rest of Asia,” Kromer continued.
