Power Plant ABB Wins Power Order in Bangladesh

ABB secures an order to provide power engineering for a power plant of Hyundai engineering in the Indian state of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh/India – ABB has won an order from the Hyundai Engineering & Construction Company, to supply a turnkey electrical balance of plant solution including a 132 kilovolt (kV) substation that will support a 360 megawatt (MW) power plant in Bangladesh.

“This project is part of the country’s efforts to accelerate the development of the country’s power infrastructure,” said Franz Josef Mengede, head of ABB’s Power Generation business within the Power Systems division. “It will boost power capacity and strengthen the Bangladesh transmission network, helping to meet the growing demand for electricity.” The plant, located at Haripur, east of the city of Dhaka, from where it will supply power for the areas around Dhaka and Chittagong.
