The Fredrive is a universal platform that allows the rapid attachment and detachment of up to five different grinding heads, so that the machine can be used for a host of special applications.
The Fredrive, developed by Frewitt, can be used in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries for a variety of operations, such as primary crushing, de-agglomeration, granulation, fine grinding and control screening. The unit can be used to mill sticky, hard or crystalline powder with varying product characteristics gently and without difficulties, the company says. Frewitt’s universal platform contains the control and drive units, and the five different grinding heads can be changed in minutes, the company says. Changeovers involve loosening the Tri-Clamp, switching the milling head, and reattaching the Tri-Clamp. The Fredrive universal platform concept can cover all applications that require a mill with screen calibration (including Atex zones 0/20 and 1/21). The Fredrive system opens new paths for ease-of-use and efficiency, Frewitt comments.
The Fredrive can be mounted on a mobile lifter that meets the standards of the pharmaceutical industry, the company adds. The height of the apparatus can be adjusted with a button, and the device can be easily integrated into an existing or new system in an open or closed application.
