USA: Research and Development 3M Launches 150 Million Dollar Lab in Minnesota
3M finishes an integral part of its US $ 8.5 billion research and development project: The company has opened a new state-of-the-art R&D lab at its headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota.
St. Paul, Minnesota/USA –The 470,000 square foot facility (with investment costs of US $ 150 million) shall help to enhance collaboration and technology sharing further throughout the company. “This space represents an opportunity to work differently,” said Lee Stanek, product commercialization manager at 3M Aerospace and Commercial Transportation.
“Sometimes that’s enough to cause you to think in a different way. We are working in a different space, collaborating with different people.” The new lab will bring together scientists and researchers from multiple 3M businesses, opening up collaborative ways to combine the company’s technology platforms.
