Nowadays the requirements for many new products often include complex or even contradictory features which cannot be performed by any single face material. Solving such problems by means of fiber reinforced layered composite structures is the special concern of the book “Advanced Ceramics and Composites – 6 th Interregional European Colloquium on Ceramics and Composites” and its four sections: Material Synthesis, Characterization and Biomedical Applications; Manufacturing Technologies; Material Testing and Physical Properties; Composites and Surface Technologies. Contents are based on the more than 70 papers presented at the IEKC 6 Symposium on Advanced Ceramics and Composites. Held in Stuttgart, Germany, this interregional European colloquium on ceramics and composites is dedicated to scientific exchange and cooperation between European material engineers and scientists. The contributions of more than 200 authors demonstrate the potential of material science and engineering in a broad variety of applications. The book contains many pictures, graphics and tables and costs 50.11 Euro.
