Remarkable growth for America's leading trade show for paints and coatings: American Coatings Show & Conference 2012 saw 12% more attendees and 30% more exhibitors than in previous years at the joint fair and conference in Indianapolis. The organisers expressed their satisfaction with the development of the event.
Indianapolis, Indiana/USA – With 427 exhibitors and more than 7,500 overall participants from 69 countries (2010: 328/6,700), the third American Coatings Show & Conference exceeded previous numbers for visitors, exhibitors and net exhibit space, the organizers stated.
Visitors gave the American Coatings Show top marks; the visitor survey shows a high satisfaction among the attendees. The organizers, the American Coatings Association and Vincentz Network, are very pleased that each of the biennial events has increased in attendance. The presentation of three important industry awards rounded off the most important event addressing developments in coatings, paints, sealants, construction chemicals, and adhesives in North America. The next American Coatings Show & Conference will take place April 7–10, 2014 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA.
Exhibitors from 19 countries (2010: 17) displayed a comprehensive range of products on more than 91,000 net square feet of exhibit space (2010: 68,100 square feet) of all aspects of paint and coating formulation during the Show, which was held May 8–10, 2012 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. Companies from abroad accounted for 35% of the exhibitors.

The American Coatings Show is an attractive event for leaders in the coatings industry. Business owners, managing directors, and department heads accounted for 67% of the visitors, representing companies from several industry categories: manufacturers of coatings and paints (45%), suppliers of raw materials (32%), service providers (10%), and manufacturers of adhesives and sealants (7%).
Nine out of every 10 visitors reported having influence on purchasing decisions at their companies; and 44% of visitors negotiated one or more business deals at the Show 2012. Top reasons for attending included: setting up new business contacts (46%), gathering new product information (41%), maintaining business contacts (39%), and/or extending knowledge (27%).
According to the visitors surveyed at the American Coatings Show 2012: 97% were satisfied with the range of products and services that the exhibitors presented, 98% were satisfied with the opportunities for obtaining information and establishing contacts, and 76% of visitors expressed an interest in using the featured new products. At least 75% of attendees had already decided at the 2012 Show that they would be back for the American Coatings Show in Atlanta.
