GAIL plans to bring its new LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) terminal at Dabhol, on the Indian west coast online by the end of 2014. Initially, the terminal will operate on only half of its capacity, which is 2.5 million tonnes per year.
Dabhol/India – The regional press reported further that GAIL is also likely to make a contract with regards to purchase LNG. With the rise in the demand, India intends to increase its LNG handling capacity. The capacity is expected to reach to 50 million tonnes a year by 2017 from its current capacity of 13.5 million tonnes.
