French plant engineers Technip will provide front end engineering and design for two petrochemical plants in Tobolsk, Western Siberia. Corresponding contracts with the Sibur affiliate ZapSibNeftekhim were recxently signed.
Paris/France – The first contract concerns a linear low/high density gas phase polyethylene plant, the second one is for a high density slurry phase polyethylene facility. Each plant will consist of two parallel production trains with a total capacity of 1.5 million tons per year of polyethylene. Both will be developed using licensed Ineos technologies. The contract value remained undisclosed.
Engineering and design works will be executed by Technip's operating centers in Lyon, France, and St. Petersburg, Russia. Completion is scheduled for early 2013.
