BASF starts up new plant in Ludwigshafen

At its multi-production site in Ludwigshafen BASF has opend a new hydrogen plant. The plant will deliver hydrogen and oxo gas (a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen) to nearly 90 plants in Ludwighafen. The production capacity is about 1.4 billion cubic meters of synthetic gas per annum. The plant uses natural gas and steam to produce the synthetic gas. BASF invested a two-digit euro amount in the extension of the hydrogen production capacity.
