Sartorius Stedim Biotech to cooperate with the Paul Mueller Company

– Sartorius Stedim Biotech’s subsidiary, Sartorius Stedim North America, and the U.S. systems manufacturing specialist Paul Mueller Company, based in Springfield, Missouri, have entered into an exclusive cooperation and supply agreement covering the United States, Canada, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico for manufacturing biopharmaceutical production systems. This agreement provides that Paul Mueller Company will be Sartorius Stedim Biotech’s exclusive North American partner and supplier of stainless steel systems, such as fermentors, bioreactors, freeze-thaw systems and crossflow and other filtration systems. Sartorius Stedim Biotech and Paul Mueller Company will each continue to offer their own traditional products in addition to the products offered jointly under the agreement. Within this framework, Sartorius Stedim Biotech will be closing its production facility for stainless steel systems in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and will be focusing on customer-specific application engineering as well as installation and servicing of its stainless steel systems. Sartorius Stedim Biotech will be concentrating these activities at its site in Springfield, Missouri, and thus in the immediate vicinity of its new cooperation partner. In Europe and Asia, Sartorius Stedim Biotech will continue to manufacture these systems at its production facilities in Germany (Melsungen) and India (Bangalore).
