Basell's Spheripol technology for a polypropylene plant

Doha/Qatar – Qatar Petroleum has selected Basell’s Spheripol technology for a new 700,000 tons per year polypropylene plant that will be built in Mesaieed, Qatar, as part of the Qatar Petrochemical Complex project. The unit will be operated by a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and Honam Petrochemical of Korea. Start-up is expected in 2011.
