Mix before you pump
Mixing pumps made of polypropylene and s steel materials

stainlesMedia that have a tendency to settle have to be mixed briefly before they are (partially) drained from a container to ensure that they are properly homogenized. Users need so-called mixing pumps for this application.

Lutz has taken the mixing pumps which it has developed for drums and optimized them for container applications to make sure that the user's process is as reliable as possible and to provide a piece of equipment that will pump and mix at the same time. What changes were made? The impeller geometry was specially designed to circulate up to 160 l/min. This is sufficient capacity to ensure that high volumes can be mixed and circulated. The immersion shaft is designed for use in a container. Apertures are placed at various levels to thoroughly mix the medium. A hand lever is provided for continuous adjustment of the apertures (open and close), so that the mixing operation can be controlled to meet application requirements.

The hand lever is used to close the apertures, and the stop valve is opened at the drain nozzle before the draining operation starts. The system has been designed to handle large containers, and it is suitable for both mobile and stationary use. It can be installed quickly and is easy to operate. Customers can choose between polypropylene and stainless steel (1.4571). The mixing pumps have no seals, lubricants or grease. High-endurance plain bearings provide reliable operation in emergency conditions. ATEX 100a compliant motors and pumps are available for handling highly flammable fluids. Other versions are available which are made of materials that are safe to use in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. Lutz offers a wide range of accessories to support professional drum and container operations. Once again, all products are ATEX 100a approved and have a manufacturer's certificate verifying that all of the materials including the nozzles and flow meters are safe to use in the food industry, etc.
