Moving forward into the future
Investment in construction of a new pharmaceutical mixing plant

The resumption and intensification of innovation activity has enabled the contract filler ASM, Aerosol-Service AG, in Möhlin,
Switzerland to significantly increase the pace of innovation. In addition to being a reliable, full-service partner for development, production, filling and packaging in its cosmetics, perfume, pharmaceuticals and technical business lines, the company can also offer genuine, state-of-the-art suggestions to its customers.

Following an evaluation of new production methods, this flexible service provider invests a lot of effort in the development of new products and the improvement, rationalization and optimization of existing production processes. This gives the company the know-how it needs to maintain its competitive edge.
A year of intensive collection and further development of a wide variety of inputs has resulted in a number of promising projects. ASM offers these solutions selectively and on an ongoing basis to its discerning customer base. Some of the solutions are nearly ready for market introduction, and they point the way forward for further development activity.
ASM has notched up a gear and is planning to build a pharmaceutical and cosmetics mixing plant using Class E/D
cleanroom technology. The project has already progressed to the basic design phase. The decision to make this massive investment will enable the company to move into the fast lane as it heads in the direction of pharmaceuticals and to stay there.

Planning for the two-story mixing building is based on state-of-the-art technology. Air locks for material and workers plus mixing and weighing chambers as well as separate staging and storage zones are perfectly harmonized, providing personnel and material flows which meet the most stringent GMP and FDA requirements.
Any material uantity from laboratory scale right up to volumes of 4,000 liters can be processed, enabling ASM to meet the customer’s individual needs. Systems with explosion protection are available for production of products that contain solvents. The plant is expected to go online in the first quarter of 2005 after qualification has been completed.
