ACHEMASIA – International Exhibition-Congress on Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology will take place for the sixth time in Beijing/PR China from 11 to 15 May 2004. Since the first event
in 1989 it has become the foremost exhibition
in Asia for the chemical processing industries, plant engineers and for technology suppliers.
The international character makes it the key event of its kind in China and, therefore, of special significance for the Chinese economy.
While the rest of the world is still undergoing a recession, the economy and trade in the Middle Kingdom are booming. China continues to attract the highest direct investment: in 2002 alone foreign companies invested $53 billion in this market; for 2003 foreign investment is forecast to exceed $60 billion. China now ranks as the world’s sixth largest export nation and is an importer and investor to be reckoned with.

In the priority sectors set by the Chinese economy, the chemical industry, pharmaceutical engineering, petrochemistry, food technology, biotechnology and environmental protection, there is an serious need for equipment, technologies and know-how.
