InfoClick: The Information-Turbo

Without doubt we are entering a new era: The age of information and communication. And just as communication technology has developed by leaps and bounds these past few years – from the advent of the Internet to the ubiquitous mobile phone – so, too, our communicative behavior has changed radically. These days, most people want to be contactable and to have to access information anywhere and anytime (best of all, right now). All those buzzwords the globalized economy has spawned, from “time is money” and “time to market” to “just in time”, have left their mark.
Knowing more than one’s competitors and being able to act on that knowledge fast have now become assets of the first order. Speed is of the essence. Nor have trade journals been spared this challenge, especially not those produced for globalized industries such as chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Instead of merely following the trend towards ever faster and ever more densely networked research, however, PROCESS is also setting new standards.
Starting with this issue we have incorporated a new feature that is a highly innovative and above all fast communication tool. InfoClick, which will henceforth replace the box numbers used in countless publications, is the product of intensive market research. What this new tool means in practice is faster access to suppliers, hyperlinks to facilitate research and more background information on producers and providers. And it could scarcely be faster!

To find out just how easy InfoClick is to use, read the box on this page and the article on page 16 called “The Trick with the Click”. Not that those of our readers who have no Internet access have been forgotten. They are invited to make use of the fax contact form provided at the back of this issue (page 67). Unlike the fax forms offered by other magazines, however, this one goes straight to the supplier, without any time-consuming detours to the publisher. And the suppliers’ fax numbers are provided both in the product ads and in the articles. So try it out! InfoClick or fax – two ways of getting in touch fast and effectively.
