Hannover Messe charts the complete automation cycle

– At this year’s Hannover Messe (21 – 25 April, at the Hannover Exhibition Center) “Industrial Automation” once again constitutes the largest single group of displays, having grown by a further ten per cent since the previous show in 2007. The organizer, Deutsche Messe, expects over 1,800 exhibitors in the “Automation” section of the show. New thematic formats and priorities for the upcoming show were worked out:
The display category Electrical Power Transmission/Motion Control will now be sited close to the displays of Mechanical Engineering, Industrial PCs and SPS. This will give visitors a complete overview of applications within the context of the other plant engineering systems that relate to their particular line of business.
The special presentation “Wireless Automation” will be significantly expanded by more than ten exhibitors. The move to Halls 6 and 7 also puts it conveniently close to Interkama+.
The special display “Application Park” will feature live demonstrations. Alongside these live presentations over 60 exhibitors will be showing robotic and mechanical engineering solutions on a total display area of 3,500 square metres.
For the first time at an automation trade show visitors will be able to see a whole presentation dedicated to mobile robots and autonomous systems.
“The new displays on specific themes in process automation are designed to attract even more visitors from the process industry”, notes Dr. Gunther Kegel, president of Interkama+. In order to chart the complete spectrum of automation applications at the heart of Hannover Messe, the exhibitors at MicroTechnology in Hall 6 will be capitalizing on synergies with Interkama+. At the same time there is a great deal of crossover between the displays of process automation and the products and services offered by industrial subcontractors at the allied trade show Subcontracting in Halls 3 to 5. Also of interest is the special display “Energy Efficiency”, where Hannover Messe is showcasing components and systems for maximizing energy efficiency in all types of industrial processes.
