Welcome to AchemAsia

AchemAsia is by far the most comprehensive and international exhibition-congress for the process industry in China and Asia. This three-yearly event will take place in Beijing, China for the 7th time in May 2007.20 years ago I met the former president of DECHEMA, Prof Behrens, in Tokyo at the Third World Congress on Chemical Engineering where he put forward the concept of AchemAsia. With the support of the respective leaders in the Ministry of Chemistry, in 1989 AchemAsia was held for the first time in Beijing. In the meantime this event has already been held six times with continuous success.

With its high degree of internationalism and expertise,  AchemAsia has become the international exhibition-congress with the longest history in China, the highest number of foreign exhibitors, the broadest scope, the highest standard and the most outstanding success when compared to similar exhibitions in China. Currently it is also one of the exhibition-congresses in the Asia-Pacific region with the broadest scope, the richest content and the highest technological state-of-the-art in the areas of chemical technology, biotechnology and equipment. Both in China and abroad, this event has a huge impact and it has received extensive acclaim from industry.

With the fierce competition in the world economy and the economic development of the region, the process industry has already become the mainstay of industry in many countries. From now onwards it will maintain its momentum of continuous growth for the foreseeable future. In the course of this development,  ACHEMA and AchemAsia will build a platform for all the related entrepreneurs, traders, experts and scientists throughout the world to facilitate communication and the interchange of ideas and experience.

I am confident that the upcoming AchemAsia 2007 will continue to maintain its strong position in the region and that it will add an even more successful and glorious chapter to its already notable history.
