Smooth diaphragm
EHEDG-certified sterile valve combines high control performance with hygienic conditions

Thanks to an innovative diaphragm mounting, it is now possible for the first time to use a completely smooth diaphragm for separating the process chamber from the piston rod. The result is a large-stroke sterile valve which combines high control performance and aseptic properties and which is EHEDG certified.
In developing the 6021 sterile valve, Schubert & Salzer wanted to combine ideal hygienic conditions with good control performance. Good control performance, however, requires a large stroke, and the seal between the process chamber and the piston rod presents a special challenge. Using a new diaphragm mounting, it is now possible for the first time to fasten the diaphragm in a way that avoids stretching the diaphragm during opening and closing.

The valve with the corner housing removed to show the new, completely smooth diaphragm.
