TechnoPharm 2005 focuses on packaging
Exhibtion

TechnoPharm 2005 expects to continue its success story with 270 exhibitors and about 13 500 visitors. Packaging will be the focus in Nuremberg during three days, October 11–13, 2005.
The pharmaceutical industry faces rising competition in the market that demands short production cycles and durations of a patent. Consequently, the series of challenges in production require a solution. TechnoPharm 2005 takes up this topic with the “1st European Congress on Life Science Process Technology”. The ambitious aim of the congress is to find new ways in the triangle between productivity, quality and efficiency. As there are many aspects in this field, reaching from automation technology to aseptic processing, interested participants will have numerous points for a discussion with specialists.

Another emphasis is the drug development, since not only the outside matters. Unfortunately, fraud resistant packaging has become an urgent issue as the pharmaceutical piracy causes an immense worldwide loss of sales of e17 billion. The International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations assumes that about seven percent of the all traded pharmaceuticals are copies. However, the business with illegal products does not only affect the pharmaceutical industry. In the worst case scenario, the copies are toxic and can lead to death. Even in less serious cases, taking wrong or an excessive dose of medicine damages health. The after-treatment is costly and causes in Germany alone annually a sum of about e10 billion.
Thus, international problems require solutions on a world scale.
Together with its partner Powtech, TechnoPharm has established as an important forum for an international audience from the pharmaceutical industry. Last year about one third of the visitors came from 80 countries, as the survey that the two fair partners carried out in 2004 reveals. The figures promise a rising tendency. Moreover, 89 % of the participants are involved in the process of new acquisition in their company and are of high quality for the exhibitors. Generally, the exhibitors’ are very satisfied with TechnoPharm. The result does not surprise as 92 % of them made new business contacts.
In order to continue the positive development of the fair, TechnoPharm expands its competences and strengthens the division of cosmetics. The reasons are twofold: More than 150 companies offer products for the beauty industry and a special survey confirms that the segment cosmetics appears extensively.
