Bigger than ever
interpack 2005 in Duesseldorf: more than 2,200 exhibitors from 56 countries

Every three years, the pharmaceutical packing industry is well served in Duesseldorf, Germany. From 21 to 27 April, the 17th interpack, International Fair Packaging Machinery, Packaging, Confectionery Machinery will once again open its doors. Never before has the fair been staged on the scale that it will be this year.

As one of the most successful capital goods fairs in the world, interpack in 2005 will present visitors from key user industries with new products for the food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics segments plus innovative solutions and all-in services for all packaging consumer sectors. The spectrum of individual offerings shown at interpack makes it not only an innovation forum but also a platform, showcasing everything from packaging to all-in packaging solutions. Once again in 2005, the trade fair will give informative blanket coverage to everything from manufacturing processes all the way to packaged end products.
Following the comprehensive alterations and expansion of the Duesseldorf Trade Fair Center, a net exhibition space of 160,000 square metres, spread across 18 halls which include the completely new Hall 8, will be available to interpack 2005. The entire complex has been fully booked by more than 2,200 exhibitors from 56 countries. Some 170,000 visitors — processors, packers, wholesalers and distributors of products as well as packaging designers and developers — are once again expected to gather at the fairgrounds on the Rhine to gain new insights and pick up on exciting impulses. The interpack exhibitors’ offerings are logically divided up between the exhibition halls. Traditional leaders in the floorspace stakes, the suppliers of packaging machinery, among them numerous packaging producing companies, will be housed in Halls 4–6, 8 and 11–17. Second in the floorspace ranking are packaging manufacturers who will occupy Halls 7 and 9–11. Also making a strong showing are suppliers to confectionery producers who will set up shop in Halls 1–3 and parts of Hall 4. As a special highlight, market leaders such as Marchesini Verpackungsmaschinen, SCAMI Imola, Cam A.M.R.P. Handels AG and Ilapak Verpackungsmaschinen will take the stage in the new Hall 8 at the Duesseldorf Trade Fair Center. The hall, completed only in October 2004, will offer exhibitors a number of advantages. Aside from boasting a capacity of up to 13,500 square metres, it can be flooded with daylight and exhibits displayed at ground level. What’s more, it lies in the immediate proximity of the main entrance area to the north of the fairgrounds and the new urban rail station.
