High-ranking politicians such as the Thuringian Economics and Science Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee and the Tatarian Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov had invited a selected group of representatives from their respective countries to participate in this delegation trip. The goal of the trip was to deepen the cooperation ties between the Free State and the Russian Republic as well as to develop the industrial potential of the region of Tatarstan. Politicians and economic representatives see great opportunities here especially in the petroleum processing industry.
In the spring of 2016, the Thuringian Minister-President, Mr. Bodo Ramelow undertook a delegation trip to the Russian Republic, in which the EPC Group too participated. During the this first trip, the working group of Tatarstan – Thuringia was formed and met for the first time on 29 March 2017 to discuss about preliminary successes and prospects for the future. The EPC Group and its representatives Jens Henkel and Dr. Ruslan Akhmetkhanov were actively involved in this meeting. Among other things, they presented the achievements of the company’s branch office in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, which was opened in 2016. Through a local branch office, numerous projects in the field of industrial plant construction and natural gas liquefaction (LNG) in this region can be developed on-site with the innovative know-how of this Thuringian company.
"We are convinced that Tatarstan will be one of the leading regions in Russia for industrial production," says Jens Henkel, Managing Director of EPC Group. " There is great potential for our company and the region of Tatarstan particularly in the areas of LNG and petroleum processing."
